JETBOOM BOXERS

ABOUT US
And Our Breeding Program
Rod and I were married in April 2000 in Caversham, Western Australia. Our first son Blade was born at Kalamunda Hospital in 2001. We lived in the surrounding areas for another 2 years before moving to our home here. Our second son Denim was born in 2006 at Armadale Hospital. He and Blade are 5 years apart almost to the day - Blade born on the 7th and Denim on the 6th of September.
Not long after moving we got some horses; a quarterhorse gelding for Rod named 'Fury', a paint colt for myself 'Chrome' and Blade had the miniature mare in foal 'Magic'.
We've had a couple of others in between but now concentrating more on the showing and breeding of our boxers have scaled down to just having Chrome who lives at his trainer's and only comes home for a spell !

'Fury' 'Chrome with Gary Marshall' 'Magic & Nemo'
We also have 2 male cats, Phoenix and Lestat who are the guardians of the home and make sure that they teach the puppies at an early age that cats are not to be trifled with! It's a pity the adult dogs around here aren't as quick learners....

Phoenix (Ginger) & Lestat (Black)
I am an avid lover of roses and have around 80 bushes and climbers around the property which are a job in themselves to upkeep. I also enjoy photography and have the camera out whenever I can.
We love our V8 Holden cars; at present Em drives the latest HSV GTS in Morpheous Purple that wears the 'Jetboom' license plate. We all love the dragstrip of course and have spent many a night there racing each other down the quarter mile !

Golf is also one thing we share in common with my family (apart from the love of HSV's ! ) and we do occasionally enjoy a game where my dad drives our drinks around and the rest of the boys throw each other out of the carts and have races Johnny Knoxville style!
We have all done the motorbike thing to differing extents. The quads are still reigning supreme at present. Blade has his 4 wheeler and has since learnt to do doughnuts at full revs in the gravel driveway.... Thanks Uncle Steve!

Motorcross days Emma's R1 Doughnut time!

Our Breeding Program
Our boxers are our passion, even though we are relatively new to the showing side of it all. Our aim is to breed boxers that are both show quality as well as having all the typical traits of a well loved family pet.
We have mainly UK bloodlines and are always trying to strengthen these. All our bitches are of English pedigrees and we use only English dogs to compliment them. Some of these featured lines are Winuwuk, Jenroy, Walkon, Jimbren, Faerdorn and Ozstock.
Temperament is second to none with our breeding program - it is basically the main feature we concentrate on as this is something the breed should never be questioned on. Most of our buying enquiries are families so a good natured boxer is first priority not only to us but to them also.
This is not to say that we rate genetics as unimportant! Far from it... The boxer is a 'head' breed and as such this is the most important feature of the whole makeup. We strive to breed dogs that have good, strong and correct head shape with wide, square mouths and correctly conformed facial features according to the Boxer Standard set out by the Australian National Kennel Council.
Body conformation and shape is also important and correct gait and movement.
All our boxers are vaccinated, wormed and vet checked before leaving us. They are registered with the Canine Association of Western Australia and come with either Main or Limited papers depending on the home they are going to. We ask all our buyers to keep in contact with us and we offer full time assistance and advice should it be needed. We also offer a first option buy-back / re-home for all our puppies and adults should circumstances change (as we all know this sometimes happens). We would rather know where they go to than to have them just disappear into the unknown...
Being from the younger generation with breeding boxers we are not opposed to keeping our white boxers when they surface from time to time. These dogs are just as much boxers as their coloured brothers and sisters with the same makeup and temperament as any typical boxer. We just make sure that people who are interested in these dogs are fully informed about them and their genetic disposition. We get our new owners to name their new white puppy and then send them a certificate that we make up with all the details of dogs in their pedigree.
