On the 21st March at the Western Australian Kennel Club Champ show our homebred boy Ch Jetboom Hot Shot 'Buzz' was awarded *BEST IN SHOW* under judge Mr B. Luxton from South Australia with a total entry of 740 dogs !!
It was a split show, carrying over from the 19th. Group was judged by Ms M. Patten (NSW) and Breed was Mrs I Glynn also from SA. So to be picked by 3 different judges and end up with BIS just goes to show how much of an impression this boy gives!

To say we are thrilled with him would be the understatement of the year ! Buzz is a delight to own and would have to be one (if not 'the') favorite here at Jetboom.
He is the most loving soul who will do anything just so he can have a cuddly lick of your chin... He is a true showman who just loves being in the spotlight and is such a joy to watch.
He loves everyone & everything and has a real 'following' here at the shows with so many dog people in many different breeds who just adore him.
An amazing crowd they are here, a big cheer went up when he was awarded BIS, it was just lovely to hear the genuine congrats!!

Buzz is sired by BISS Ch Jimbren Jet Setter (Imp UK) and out of RBISS Ch Sanlian Dreams Apoppin At Jetboom (Imp NZ)

'Evie'

We'd like to introduce 'Evie' who has come here to be campaigned by us for both Kim & Andrew (Meahic) and Paul (Saxonee). Evie is a stunning girl who we are so proud to have with us and who we believe will be a great asset to the boxer community here in WA.

She is already a Multi Puppy in Show winner and an Aust Ch who has never been unplaced in her show career.

At her first shows here - the Western Classic, she was awarded Best Of Breed and then R/U Best Of Breed the next day with an entry of 24 boxers each day - what a great start !!!

January

This month saw WA hold their annual Puppy Of The Year and Veteran Sweepstakes show in the (somewhat!) cool of the evening.
Entries consisted of all 7 groups with puppies classed into either Senior (over12 months) or Junior (under 12 months).
To qualify, puppies must have won either a Best Baby, Minor or Puppy In Group at an All Breeds or Group Club Champ Show in WA in 2009.
Our young boy 'London', Jetboom Lusting Impression (ai) was entered into the Junior class and proceeded to take out not only Best Junior in Group 6 but also BEST JUNIOR PUPPY IN SHOW, beating 71 other Juniors!!
Pitted against the winner of the Senior Puppy class who was an American Cocker Spaniel and going under 2 of the judges that he had met in the first rounds, we hoped for the best for London but it was just not meant to be, the Cocker was already a Ch and a well deserving Puppy!
Nevertheless, we are so extremely proud of his awesome efforts for the night, he performed like a well seasoned show dog when required but also showed his 'typical bouncy boxer' temperament as was quoted by 2 of his judges !
Judges for Group 6 were Miss C Ryan (Qld), Mrs A Raymond (SA) and Mr R Stoate (Vic); for show was again Mr R Stoate, Miss C Ryan and Mr G Nolan (SA).

December

Our last NEW CHAMPION for the year !!

'Lexus' has now gained her final points needed on the last day of the year to be known as 'Australian Champion Cooltre Stop The Press' (AI).

She has gained her title with some good wins and in an 8 month time period. She is the third of the litter to title, beating her other 2 sisters here that are shown against her. Her other sister is already titled in NZ and another litter brother here in WA has also made the grade... we are very proud of this young lady, she is very deserving !

October

Jetboom have another NEW CHAMPION !

On the 18th October our lovely 'Buzz' gained his final points to make up his title ! 'Australian Champion Jetboom Hot Shot' has been made up with some very big wins and has done it within a 10 month period. Buzz is one of our special boys here, he has the most amazing temperament and is our two little boy's favorite ! He is such a gentle and loving soul but a true showman with spark and character - exactly how a boxer should be.

We are so proud of you Buzzy Bee !!

July

Jetboom have a NEW CHAMPION !

On the 11th July 'George' gathered the last points he needed to title ! Australian Champion Jetboom Flight To Fame is co-owned with, shown and loved by Derek & Jeanette Sadler of Taramark Boxers in Queensland.

But to top off the 19pt BOB win, George was also awarded RUNNER UP IN GROUP!! Judge was Mr V Jones (Qld).

What an awesome way to finish this lovely boy - we are so proud of them!!

June

June is here again so that means the Queensland Boxer Club Specialty Show!!

This year I was able to join Rod in the yearly sojourn to the East Coast and we once again had a fabulous time! Our judge this year was Mr Robert Verhulst from Tradonalee Boxers in Canada.

We didnt come away with the BIS again this year although when our Ch Jetboom Bonfire Night (Flame) was awarded Challenge Dog I think some people were thinking that it might be the case! Not to worry though,  we were extremely proud of Flame also going Opposite Sex In Show and Jetboom Hot Shot (Buzz) getting Opposite Junior In Show!

We are also very proud of our new showman, 'Leeds', Jetboom Dark Dreams Of Lust (AI) who was awarded Baby Puppy In Show and who incidentally was the only male in the whole show to be awarded a Class In Show.....

Andrew with Flame after winning Challenge Dog!

Rod with Leeds and then with Buzz. Judge Mr Robert Verhulst (Canada)

Leeds only had his first show the day before at Caboolture & Dists under Mrs C Clarke (Qld) where he was awarded Baby In Group and the day after the Specialty was also given another Baby In Group at the Ipswich Kennel Club show under another Canadian Mrs Letitia Bett!

He is such a clever boy and we wish Kim and Andrew all the best for his show career with them in Queensland!

Also at Caboolture Jetboom Hot Shot (Buzz) and Cooltre Stop The Press (AI) (Lexus) were awarded Junior In Group and BOB / Puppy In Group respectively. Jetboom Flight To Fame (George) was Runner Up Best Of Breed with an entry of 19 boxers.

At Ipswich Lexus was once again Best Of Breed and the following day at Western Suburbs she was Runner Up Best Of Breed

So four days of shows end once again for the year, we have never been disappointed with our results yet and continue to look forward to the next time. The close friendships we have made with so many on the East Coast are worth travelling for alone - the shows are just a bonus....

September

Of course as any boxer breeder and exhibitor knows, September 5 & 6 2008 were considered to be the most important two days of the entire showing year. This show is none other than the bi-annual event known as the' Boxer National' !

It was with great excitement that we dropped the 2 boys off at the parents house and together with 4 dogs drove to the airport headed for Sydney - destination of this year's big show... The weather there was quite cold as we got off the plane and the next couple of days were just the same! Of course the two days of the show it rained torrentially from the start of the conformation classes to about 2 hours after the show ended the next day! You wouldnt believe it unless you had been there. Weather after that was sunny, fine and warm !

Regardless of the weather we made the most of our time there and it was a wonderful experience. Nic and Coco were shortlisted for their classes. Our two highlights though were Milo - Jetboom Mile High Club and Flame - Jetboom Bonfire Night both receiving a Second Place in their classes of Baby Puppy Dog (out of 16) and Aust Bred Dog (out of 12) respectively !

Milo's critique was "Nice head and expression, good feet and good bone for a 4 month old" - Mr Jack Ireland.

It was great to see Milo and Gavin in the ring - Milo powered along never putting a foot wrong - he is a real little showman !

And of course to see the David / Flame team in action gave us great pleasure too. David gets so much out of Flame, it is just amazing to watch and all worked hard for their wins as the competition there was exceptional ! (Flame's critique is on his page write-up)

Just so happy to see such a beautiful and deserving boxer win BISS - 'Boxbar Luck B A Lady', owned by none other than Di & Dennis - Lady is a bitch I have admired for such a long time, she is simply stunning and we were absolutely wrapt for them.

Since the weather didnt really permit good photos we dont have many of the show. I am sure the WDBC will post some soon along with Critiques etc... Although I do have some good (embarrassing!) photos of certain people from the aftermath of the Presentation Dinner ! You know who you are !!!

NIC DOES  IT AGAIN !!!

Multi BISS Ch Ozstock The I Tie (Nic) has once again won BEST IN SHOW at Queensland Boxer Club's annual Specialty Show; for a second  consecutive year!!!

This year's show, held on the 7th June was judged by Boxer Specialist and FCI Judge Mr Pedro Bispo from Von Bispus Boxers in Portugal.

I am told that as soon as Nic was awarded a teary-eyed lady by the name of Dianne Bradshaw - aka Nic's breeder - came into the ring and an emotional congratulation was made! Thanks must go to Dianne and Dennis of Ozstock for making this such a wonderful and unforgettable experience for us all.

The rest of the show was then judged, with one of Dianne's many stunning boys (of course Im not biased!) Ch Ozstock Sock It Toya went Reserve In Show and this year Nic's son Jetboom Bonfire Night (Flame) has taken BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW from a strong line-up of boys and girls!

The club held their Open Show immediately after the Champ, this year judged by Mrs Silvana Tassan of Phoenway Boxers (Qld). Mrs Tassan again awarded Flame BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW !!!

Critiquing comments from the Judge are on the 'Our Boys' page under each of the boys respectively. These are also on the Queensland Boxer Club's website - look down this page to the results from last June for the weblink or try the Links page.

We are so proud of our boys and what they have achieved in their show career with us. We are honoured to have had the wins and experiences that they have brought.

We also want to thank everyone that has phoned, texted, emailed or sent congrats to us through the grape-vine - it all means the world to us and please be assured that it is something we keep with us always.

February

Jetboom are pleased to announce that Nic is now 'Australian Champion Ozstock The I Tie'!

Nic was titled on Saturday the 16th after Specialist Judge Mr Miles Gunter of Guntop Boxers NSW gave him Best In Group at the Albany All Breeds Dog Club Champs (WA). What a wonderful way to get his last few points. Flame went Res BOB / Res Dog CC under his dad and Vixen also got Res Bitch CC.

It was almost the same results the next day with Specialist Judge Mrs Liz Gunter awarding Nic Res In Group, Flame Res BOB / Res Dog CC and Vixen Res Bitch CC. All in all a wonderful weekend had by everyone.

September

The Boxer Club of WA held it's annual Champ Show on the 1st Sep. It was a beautiful spring day and this year was held out on the lawns. We had a wonderful day and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Our judge for this year was Mr Warren D. Hudson from the USA. He has been a boxer breeder for 40 years, he and his wife finishing more than 50 champions and has judged the breed for 16 years. His prefix is 'Warjoys'.

We came home very happy, having a hat-trick for the show! Coco did it again as she did last year, this time winning Best Junior In Show. Flame came home with Best Puppy In Show and Vixen was awarded Best Minor In Show. Little Blitz played second fiddle to his litter sister this time getting Opposite Minor In Show... Poor Nic didnt get much of a look in, only a placing in the Open Dog class!

June

From the 31st of May to the 18th June we were in Queensland competing in shows and staying with  friends, the Mahoney family of Jaksamlee Boxers. We took 7 dogs with us and had a wonderful time enjoying the experience.

The main reason for going over was the Queensland Boxer Club's Specialty Champ Show under Breed Specialist judge Mrs Maritha Ostlund - Holmsten of Teamwork Boxers, Sweden held on the 9th June. And what a day it was! Our star boy Nic, 'Ozstock The I Tie' was awarded  BEST  IN  SHOW !!!

Judge Mrs Maritha Ostlund-Holmsten with Rod and 'Ozstock The I Tie'

Not to be forgotten of course are our babies, Flame 'Jetboom Bonfire Night' and Ruski 'Jetboom Russian Roulette' who were awarded a 2nd and a 3rd out of 7 respectively in the Baby Dog class. Vixen 'Jetboom Vixen at Heart' and Coco 'Sanlian Dreams Apoppin at Jetboom (Imp NZ)' also gained a 2nd in their classes of Baby Bitch and Junior Bitch.

Of course the other highlight of that day was the Open Show held immediately afterwards. Nic had another moment for us winning  BEST IN SHOW again under judge Mrs M. Hammond (N Qld) ! Coco did well winning Best Junior In Show and little Blitz 'Jetboom Northern Lights' and Vixen both won Best Baby Puppy and Opposite in Show.
